Kate McDermott Architects + Landscape Architects is a specialised practice formed in
1996 to pursue Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture with emphasis
on design and pragmatism. Today it works almost exclusively on Landscape
Architecture and Urban Design, encompassing cityscapes, park design, housing,
commercial and institutional landscapes.
The practice thrives on diversity of projects, devising innovative solutions to complex
design challenges.

Qualifications:
1989 - B.A. (Honours) in Landscape Architecture & Graduate Diploma
in Landscape Architecture, Leeds Polytechnic, UK.
1996 - B. Architectural Science & Diploma in Architecture, D.I.T., Dublin.
Member of the Irish Landscape Institute.
Career:
Kate has been working in the construction industry since graduation in 1989,
setting up
in private practice over 14 years ago. The majority of the work carried out is in collaboration
with architecture firms or directly for local authorities.
From 1997 – 2007 she has lectured and tutored in Landscape Architecture, UCD.
From 2001 – 2005 Kate served as a member of the council of the Irish Landscape Institute.
